A handcrafted, local, and sustainable approach

At Izri Design, each object tells a story. It's the story of an encounter between the craftsman's gesture and the designer's imagination. Designed in Morocco, our collections are born from a creative dialogue between Brahim Boucheikha, typographer and founder of Izri, and a network of local artisans with remarkable expertise.

Our approach is based on strong values: transmission, authenticity, and social impact. Through local and ethical manufacturing, Izri Design helps keep traditions alive while reinventing them. Each piece is handcrafted, slowly, and carefully, far from the industrial pace. It's a conscious choice: that of sustainable, human, and committed design.

We support an economy that respects living things and people. Artisans are fairly paid. Raw materials come from Morocco, France, or Portugal. A portion of the profits is donated to the Fier & Fort association, which works to protect children in Morocco.

The main stages of production

Design & typographic drawing

It all begins with a research around shapes and letters . Each Arabic , Tifinagh or Latin typographic motif is designed by Brahim Boucheikha . These creations, inspired by the history of writing, are then adapted to ceramic surfaces to ensure readability, harmony and visual impact.

The main stages of manufacturing

Handcrafted

The plates are turned or molded by hand by a potter. Each piece is unique , marked by the gesture , the time and the manufacturing conditions .

Painting & Decoration

The patterns are applied by hand , with a brush or a stencil. Each line is executed with care , each color chosen to interact with the letters . No two objects are exactly alike.

The main stages of manufacturing

Cooking & Finishing

The pieces are fired at high temperatures to ensure strength and durability . Manual quality control is carried out at each stage, ensuring an impeccable finish .

An object that has meaning

At Izri, we believe in the beauty of slow movement, the value of controlled imperfection, and the power of dialogue between cultures. Our objects carry stories. They embody a living link between past and present, between Moroccan artisanal traditions and contemporary graphic languages. Using an Izri plate is inviting history, art, and meaning to the table.

Ethical and conscious production

We prioritize local, short-circuit manufacturing, with fair compensation for artisans. We collaborate with charitable organizations, and small-batch production helps avoid waste. Raw materials are selected from Morocco, France, and Portugal.
